The Jacksonville Jaguars are now 8-4 with a dominating win over the Indianapolis Colts and they did something today they haven’t done since 2010 — they’ve guaranteed a non-losing season.
That’s right, we’ve dealt with six seasons’ worth of losing records, folks. With a good run game led by Maurice Jones-Drew, a mediocre passing attack, and a weak AFC South around them (sound familiar?) the 2010 Jaguars were the last team to post a non-losing win-loss record — 8-8 and second in the division.
That team didn’t have the near the production when it came to defense, however, averaging a little more than 1.5 sacks per game, recovering just three fumbles all year, and contributing to a -68 point differential. They were also 8-5 and staring a division lead in the face as well with a few games to go only to lose their final three games and let the Colts run away with it.
So glad we beat the Colts today, man.
