The Tennessee Titans are in CODE RED mode when it comes to head coach Mike Mularkey. According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, if the Jacksonville Jaguars win today, Mularkey might very well be fired.
The stain of losing to the Jaguars does not wash away even with an unexpectedly good season and division win apparently. Out, damned spot! Out, I say!
#Titans ownership was in the building all week, and that’s rarely a good sign. Coach Mike Mularkey is in trouble & a loss could seal his fate. #Patriots OC Josh McDaniels will get a hard look pic.twitter.com/zTGhtSifH2

Rapoport points to the development of franchise quarterback Marcus Mariota that, well, hasn’t really happened, has it?
Going to the opposite end of the spectrum and finding an innovate, offensive-minded coach to maximize what could be a good quarterback in Mariota is probably the way to go. Mularkey has spent his waning years trying to fit a square EXOTIC SMASHMOUTH peg into a round modern-day, passing-is-kinda-important, stop-running-the-read-option-into-300-pound-defensive-linemen-you-idiot hole and he’s ruining good careers.
Then again, it’s the Titans, so I hope they replace him with Gus Bradley when the Jaguars win this afternoon.
