The Jacksonville Jaguars are back home on Sunday, as they host the surging Seattle Seahawks in a late afternoon kickoff. The game was originally scheduled for the standard 1 P.M. kick, but the league felt this was going to be more of a premier game and it looks like they were correct. Even though a late afternoon kickoff would favort the West Coast team, it’s nice to finally see Jaguars games in that light again.
Surprisingly, the Jaguars opened up as a three point favorite, which means the bookies likely view it as a pretty even match up and I’d be inclined to agree based on how these teams are currently playing. The line hasn’t moved much as the week has gone on, moving to just the Jaguars at -2.5 in some places, and I would expect if it moves anymore for the money to come in on the Seahawks.
It’s going to be an interesting game for the Jaguars and a real barometer of where they stand. They have kind of feasted on some bad teams, but they also hung right with the Los Angeles Rams and suffocated their offense, while also absolutely destroying the Pittsburgh Steelers. I’m a little scared of what Russell Wilson can do, even with the Jaguars pass defense and pass rush, because that’s just what Wilson seems to do. Pull out crazy plays.
