The Jacksonville Jaguars went away from using a fullback under former head coach Gus Bradley, but with new head coach Doug Marrone and new offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett — mixed with new Executive VP of Football Operations Tom Coughlin — this is a team that’s going to do everything they can to run the ball well.
And that includes getting a fullback into the mix, according to Coughlin at a press conference today.
"Fullbacks have been discussed. We have talked about those that are available." - Coughlin on JAX having a FB in 2017

I believe the last time the Jaguars had a true fullback was before the 2015 season. But Bradley and former offensive coordinator Greg Olson wanted an extra tight end on the roster, so the fullback position became expendable.
But as Coughlin said during his press conference, the Jaguars need to do everything they can to help a struggling quarterback in Blake Bortles — and that includes putting more of an emphasis on the running game.
After a disastrous few seasons running the ball, I’m down for some wholesale changes.
