NFL Network Draft Analyst Mike Mayock has been considered one of the most prolific media experts on the process. On Monday, Mayock hosted his annual pre-combine conference call, which lasted well over two hours.

The Jacksonville Jaguars traded up in the second round of the 2016 NFL Draft to pick UCLA linebacker Myles Jack, a played a lot of people thought the team might pick with the No. 5 overall pick. In truth, he was in consideration for the Jaguars pick, but the team had Jalen Ramsey fall in their lap and in the end, ended up with both players. The excitement for getting both players was a lot of the buzz in the offseason, but then when the regular season rolled around the buzz for Jack quickly faded because quite simply, he never played.

Though free agency doesn’t begin until March 9, the Jacksonville Jaguars already may have to alter their plans. ESPN’s Ed Werder and Adam Schefter reported Monday that Kansas City was expected to use the franchise tag on safety Eric Berry, the Chargers were expected to use the franchise tag on defensive end Melvin Ingram, and the New York Giants are expected to use the franchise tag on defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul by Wednesday’s deadline. If that turns out to be the case, then three potential Jaguars targets could be off the market.
