The Tennessee Titans have signed free agent cornerback Logan Ryan to a three-year deal worth $30 million, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. This comes hours after the Jacksonville Jaguars finalized a deal to sign A.J. Bouye.

If you remember, the Titans and Jaguars were both fighting over Bouye on Thursday morning. With Bouye choosing the Jaguars, the Titans went with their Plan B in Ryan — and it seems whichever team lost out on Bouye was going to go hard after Ryan.
Ryan is a guy who thrives in man coverage. If you’d like to read more about him as a coverage defender, check out this film breakdown we did of him last month. In his two years as a starter with the Patriots, Ryan intercepted six passes and defended another 25, along with a forced fumble and 131 tackles. All in all in his four year career, Ryan has 13 interceptions, 42 passes defended, four forced fumbles, 202 tackles, and one pick-six touchdown.
Make no mistake, the Titans upgraded their defense with the Ryan signing. Not as much as the Jaguars did with Bouye, but it’s still definitely an upgrade.
