Former Jacksonville Jaguars left tackle Kelvin Beachum announced on Friday evening he would be signing with the New York Jets, via Twitter. Beachum was expected to not be long for the open market, be it as a left tackle or a guard and he lasted a little over 24 hours before signing with a new team.

Beachum was signed by the Jaguars late last offseason to a unique five-year deal that was actually a series of one-year deals with team options. To the surprise of many, the Jaguars chose not to pick up Beachum's option for the 2017 season, which made him a free agent when the new league year rolled over. The Jaguars shortly after made the trade for former Miami Dolphins left tackle Branden Albert.
There was some talk Beachum could return to the Jaguars and compete at the left tackle or guard position, but the chances of that were always contingent on the market for him being slow.
