The Jaguars needed to haul in a trophy fish in this free agency frenzy, and it sounds like they may be very close to doing that.
The #Jaguars are closing in on a deal for former #Texans CB AJ Bouye, per @JamesPalmerTV and me. They are bringing it.

This is big news, and a huge move for the Jaguars. This move will help to re-haul the secondary, pairing two rising stars at corner with Bouye and Jalen Ramsey. The team has also reportedly agreed to terms with Barry Church to come in and be the new strong safety, so it’s pretty clear that the secondary will have a whole new look this year.
After releasing Davon House and choosing to not re-sign Prince Amukumara, the Jaguars absolutely HAD to land a big time corner. With Stephon Gilmore having past issues with Head Coach Doug Marrone, many pegged Bouye as the Jaguars guy. As we discussed earlier in the day, Bouye’s agent had informed the Houston Texans that he would be signing with another team, and allegedly the two teams he was deciding between were the Jaguars and the Tennessee Titans. Landing Bouye not only gives the Jaguars a rapidly ascending player across from Jalen Ramsey at corner, but it also prevents him from going to a division rival.
Once again, please remember that nothing can become official until 4PM today, so (knocks on wood, does every anti-jinx ever) hopefully nothing changes and this report becomes reality. There’s talk now that Calais Campbell is considering backing out with the Jaguars and signing with his hometown Broncos, so hopefully something similar doesn't happen with Bouye. In all honesty, landing Bouye is a MUCH bigger deal than landing Campbell would have been. Let’s keep our fingers crossed that it still ends up being both.
