2017 Jacksonville Jaguars mock draft database: Leonard Fournette still in the lead

Every few weeks, we’ll be updating who the Internet thinks the Jacksonville Jaguars select with the No. 4 overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft. In late March, it was Leonard Fournette by a landslide with over 40 percent of the vote.

This time? Well, it’s Fournette again — by an even larger margin.

Before we begin, who is Nate Geary and why did he vote for Marshon Lattimore?

I just don’t think Fournette is a good fit for this Jaguars offense. Alfie Crow did a better job than I could at explaining why earlier this morning, but in short: Fournette depends on his offensive line creating running lanes for him to run through. He’s not that good at finding holes and bouncing to them. When Fournette has those holes to accelerate through, like we saw him do over and over again on the infamous LSU toss sweep plays, he picks up chunks of yards. In the NFL, however, those plays are much harder to execute and he's not going to be mowing over every second level defender that confronts him like he did at LSU.

Jonathan Allen and O.J. Howard round out the top three and then you have a bunch of random prospects like Jamal Adams and Malik Hooker. And unfortunately, Solomon Thomas is very nearly always gone before the Jaguars pick.
