Full NFL odds 2017: Jaguars favored in 4 games

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

The early lines were out after free agency and the 2017 NFL Draft, but only for the first week of the 2017 NFL season. We knew the Jaguars were four-point road underdogs to the Houston Texans Week 1, but beyond that we didn't really have any numbers. Well, thanks to ESPN and Cantor Technology, we have the lines for all 16 of the Jaguars games for the 2017 season.

The surprise? They're favored in four games!

It was a long standing joke for a while the Jaguars weren't favored in any games, but now they're opening the season as favorites for three games with at least one book.

Here are the four games the Jaguars are favored right now:

Week 6: Los Angeles Rams at Jaguars (-3.5)
Week 10: Los Angeles Chargers at Jaguars (-3)
Week 11: Jaguars (-3) at Cleveland Browns
Week 16: Jaguars (-1) at San Francisco 49ers

The one game here that caught me off guard is the Chargers game, because frankly the Chargers have pushed the Jaguars face in the past few years. It is late in the year and the Chargers are making the east coast trip, however, so I can see why bookies would put the Jaguars -3. Otherwise, it appears pretty standard.

As for the other weeks, the interesting lines I noticed were as follows:

Week 4: Jaguars at New York Jets (-1)
Week 5: Jaguars at Pittsburgh Steelers (-9)
Week 9: Cincinnati Bengals at Jaguars (PK)

When I first looked at the lines, I had to do a double take on the Jets line. Really? I know I'm down on the Jaguars, but the Jets are a dumpster fire and will likely be vying for the No. 1 overall pick! You have to remember however, this is directly after the game in London, so it's effectively a short week for the Jaguars on the road. It's a dummy line.

The Steelers line stood out because it was nearly double digits. I struggle to see the Jaguars just getting obliterated in many games this season, but their game in Pittsburgh is at the end of what's essentially a three-game roadie.

Finally the Bengals game, which is listed as a pick 'em, is interesting because I feel like the Bengals are overall just a better team than the Jaguars and even on the road should win. It's about midway through the season however and maybe they're coming off another road game or it's a short week?
