2018 Todd McShay mock draft: Jaguars pick FSU defensive tackle Derrick Nnadi

NCAA Football: Orange Bowl-Michigan vs Florida State Logan Bowles-USA TODAY Sports

It’s never too early for a 2018 mock draft, right? Of course not! ESPN’s Todd McShay just released his first and the Jacksonville Jaguars are upgrading their interior defensive line with Florida State defensive tackle Derrick Nnadi.

McShay explains the pick here:

15. Jacksonville Jaguars

Derrick Nnadi, DT, Florida State

At 312 pounds, Nnadi is a disruptive force along the interior D-line who totaled 10.5 tackles for loss last season. He was particularly impressive against Clemson, with one sack, two total tackles for loss and one pass breakup.

Let me see if I understand this right. We’re picking at No. 15 overall — which means McShay believes the Jaguars go about 8-8 this year. So, that’s why we’re not picking a quarterback, I guess.

But aren’t there more pressing needs on this team aside from a defensive tackle? I assume we’ll still need an edge rusher. A linebacker wouldn’t be bad here, or a tight end. An interior offensive lineman or an offensive tackle will probably be needed as well.

What do you think? Is Nnadi a good pick here? Or would you rather go a different direction than defensive tackle. Let us know in the comments below!
