Jalen Ramsey has successful minor surgery

NFL: Minnesota Vikings at Jacksonville Jaguars Logan Bowles-USA TODAY Sports

Jacksonville Jaguars cornerback Jalen Ramsey underwent successful surgery on Thursday, the team stated in an official release on Friday afternoon. Ramsey apparently developed a “core injury” during the organized team activities/mini-camp and had it fixed with some minor surgery. The team decided the best bet was to have the surgery now, rather than wait.

“To all my supporters and fans, I want you to know that I chose to undergo surgery to treat a minor injury that was very successful. I want to and will be the best version of myself that I can be for the upcoming 2017 season,” Ramsey said in a statement release by the team. “I will attack this rehab, refine my body and work as hard as I ever have to become the best Defensive Back in this league and to make everyone, including my family, teammates and city, proud of who I am.”

“I can’t wait to be back on the field with the team and show the world how we’re rocking this year,” Ramsey said in the statement.

There should be no long term issues with the injury going forward and during this time of the offseason, teams do not need to release specifics in regards to player injuries.
