Jacksonville Jaguars defensive end Dante Fowler Jr. was arrested in St. Petersburg Tuesday evening, according to the Tampa Bay Times. Fowler was charged with simple battery and mischief and was released on $650 bond early Wednesday morning.
Fowler, 22, is entering his third season in the NFL after being the Jaguars third overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft. He missed his firs season after tearing his ACL during rookie mini-camp and had a lackluster season in 2016.
This is not the first time Fowler has had an off the field incident since being a member of the Jaguars, but the first incident did not result in an arrest or any criminal charges. Fowler was seen on security cam watching two women fight and appeared to “officiate” the brawl, but nothing came out of the matter.
Details of the incident Fowler was involved in on Tuesday night have not been released and we will update the story as more details are revealed.
Update: Fowler allegedly hit a man, stomped on his glasses and tossed the person’s groceries in a lake.
