Leonard Fournette, Chris Ivory also dealing with injury

NFL: Jacksonville Jaguars at New England Patriots Bob DeChiara-USA TODAY Sports

The Jacksonville Jaguars got some bad news on Sunday on the injury front, as wide receiver Marqise Lee was carted off the field with an apparent ankle injury, and it didn’t stop there. Jaguars running backs Leonard Fournette and Chris Ivory also both missed practice on Sunday, which could be a huge concern for the team, considering the depth chart at running back.

Ivory spent practice on the exercise bike, meaning it’s likely a nagging soft tissue injury, while Fournette was nowhere to be seen. After practice, Jaguars head coach Doug Marrone indicated it was a nagging foot injury for Fournette and they were just taking precautions. It is a little worrying because Fournette had injury issues at LSU in college, though.

Without Fournette and Ivory available, the remaining Jaguars backs of T.J. Yeldon, Corey Grant, Tim Cook and newly signed Jonathan Grimes will have to shoulder the load in joint practices with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this week, as well as Thursday’s preseason game.
