If you hadn’t heard, Blake Bortles threw two pick sixes in practice and would have had a third interception had defensive backs coach Perry Fewell not yelled to the defensive back to knock it down due to field position advantage. This led to a lot of confusion wondering if Bortles was hurt or got benched, but after practice Marrone stated that it was a planned rest day and Bortles was on a “pitch count”.
Marqise Lee and Leonard Fournette have been ruled out vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers - FOXSports.com
Jacksonville Jaguars running back Leonard Fournette and receiver Marqise Lee won’t play in Thursday’s preseason game against Tampa Bay. Coach Doug Marrone ruled out both players Monday, reiterating that the team is going to be cautious with them. Fournette has a “nagging” foot injury that Marrone said has “been kind of growing.” The fourth overall pick in the NFL draft attended practice Monday, but wasn’t wearing pads and didn’t do any work.
