21 days until kickoff: Would Aaron Beasley start on an all-time Jaguars defense?

Aaron Beasley #21

With just 21 days until kickoff, let’s talk about the greatest No. 21 the Jacksonville Jaguars have ever known, and one of their best cornerbacks — Aaron Beasley!

“Beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeasley!”

Beasley was selected at the top of the third round (63rd pick overall) in the 1996 NFL Draft and he played for us until 2001. But it was his 1999 season that was most impressive — 16 starts, six interceptions, two touchdowns, two forced fumbles, and 1.5 sacks.

Whew.

In his nine-season career, he played 121 games and earned 423 tackles, 24 interceptions, 10 forced fumbles, and 8.5 quarterback sacks.

But the question today is...

Would Beasley be starting on an all-time Jaguars defense?

He’d obviously be there. He’s one of the three best cornerbacks the team has ever known. And Rashean Mathis would probably beat him out for the No. 1 spot. But is he better than the likes of Fernando Bryant?
