15 days until kickoff: The best Allen Robinson catch of 2016

With just 15 days until kickoff, let’s talk about No. 15 for the Jacksonville Jaguars and what I think to be his best catch of the 2016 season.

“Ohhhhh myyyyy what a catch!”

Allen Robinson couldn’t have been better in his home matchup against the Houston Texans last year. He caught nine of 13 targets for his second 100-yard game of the year and a sensational touchdown in the fourth quarter to pull his team to within a score.

And it was a pretty good throw from Blake Bortles too, who had very few of them in 2016.

In desperation mode, and under four minutes left in the game, the Jaguars offense drove the ball down the field on a eight-play, 92-yard drive to get them back in the game. With a successful two point conversion, they pulled to within three points with a little over two minutes to play.

Robinson will be hoping catches like this (and throws like this from Bortles) becomes the norm in 2017. He had just 73 catches on 151 targets (48.3 percent pass-catching efficiency) for 883 yards and six touchdowns.
