The Jacksonville Jaguars announced they’re going with Chad Henne as their starting quarterback against the Carolina Panthers in Week 3 of the preseason and let’s check in on...
Tried to tell folks Bortles was beyond saving. Got called a bad fan. Said I'm too negative. Now look. pic.twitter.com/qqaH5SLmfc— Victor Von Döm (@DomWorld_Peace) August 23, 2017

If you’ve been in an isolation chamber for the past week, you’d have missed Jaguars head coach Doug Marrone opening up the starting quarterback competition between Henne and Blake Bortles.
The move to start Henne shouldn’t be much of a surprise, as soon as Marrone publicly noted the starting quarterback job was up for grabs, the writing was on the wall. In order for it to be opened up, the gap between Henne and Bortles was either small, non-existent or upside down.
Bortles will get some fill in snaps with the first team, maybe more if Henne does a solid job on Thursday and the team pulls him out early, but at this point it’s trending to Henne being the team’s starter Week 1 against the Houston Texans, barring a total meltdown.
