With just 11 days until kickoff, let’s talk about former No. 11 Mike Sims-Walker and the impact he still has on the Jacksonville Jaguars. (Namely, me still yelling his patented catchphrase during games despite my family’s insistence that I stop immediately).
“Olly Olly Oxenfreeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!”

Sims-Walker was drafted in the third round of the 2007 NFL Draft. A teammate of Brandon Marshall’s at UCF, some big expectations were put on Sims-Walker. But after blowing out his knee in the fourth preseason game of his rookie year and then regressing in his fourth season after a promising 2009 season that saw him catch for 869 yards, and seven touchdowns, the team cut ties with him as soon as they could.
He bounced around the league, going to the St. Louis Rams and then back to the Jaguars until signing with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the CFL nearly two years after his final NFL snap.
The former third-round pick finished with 1,659 yards and 14 touchdowns in his career in Jacksonville.
