The Jacksonville Jaguars have signed seventh-year linebacker Akeem Dent. The Jaguars also waived rookie cornerback Ezra Robinson from the team’s reserve/injured list.
Dent has appeared in 90 career games with 29 starts, and has totaled 203 tackles, 2.5 sacks, and three passes defensed. Dent was originally drafted in the third round of the 2011 NFL Draft by the Atlanta Falcons and appeared in 47 games with 20 starts for the Falcons in three seasons. Dent was selected to the Pro Football Weekly All-Rookie team in 2011 after posting 20 tackles and one forced fumble in 16 appearances.
On June 18, 2014, Dent was traded to the Houston Texans in exchange for quarterback T.J. Yates. Dent appeared in 43 games for the Texans over three seasons, and appeared in all 16 games during the 2016 season.
The Jaguars now have 90 players on their active roster.
