Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Doug Marrone had some good news about one of his best receivers through the preseason so far this year — Dede Westbrook should play on Thursday in the preseason finale against the Atlanta Falcons.
“We just sent him up to Philadelphia to get a treatment,” Marrone said on Monday after practice. “He’ll be back and we expect him to play on Thursday.”
Westbrook was sent to Philadelphia for a second opinion on a reported sports hernia injury. He’s been one of the stars of training camp and the preseason so far for the Jaguars. He had led the team with seven receptions and 173 yards for one touchdown so far.
Apparently, Westbrook was sore in pregame workouts and held out as a precautionary.
