Jacksonville Jaguars players talk about kneeling during national anthem -
For a long time in the Jaguars locker room, Colin Kaepernick was either a subject players tiptoed around or remained just quiet conversation among teammates. Many of them recognized how any public show of support might come across in a military-minded city.

But as encouragement for the exiled quarterback has gained momentum lately in many NFL cities – partially in response to the white supremacist rally in Charlottesville, Va., that resulted in a counter-protest and national outrage over a woman being killed – it’s clear African-American players among the Jaguars support Kaepernick’s cause while trying to balance two sides of such a divisive issue.

Blake Bortles “confident” he can rebound after quarterback competition -
The Jacksonville Jaguars named Blake Bortles the starting quarterback to open the season against the Houston Texans Week 1 of the regular season. The move was a bit of a surprise, but Jaguars head coach Doug Marrone alluded to the poor play of the offensive line as a factor into his decision to go with the more mobile quarterback.

Regardless of the reason however, Bortles believes that he’s ready to put the competition and his preseason struggles behind him now that he’s secured the starting job.

Thursday night vs. Atlanta Falcons is big opportunity for Brandon Allen -
A young, third-team NFL quarterback only gets a few opportunities. So, Thursday’s 2017 preseason finale isn’t just big to Allen.

It’s everything.

“It really is,” Allen said Tuesday as the Jaguars prepared to play the Atlanta Falcons in the 2017 preseason finale at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta on Thursday. “These preseason games, not just this last one, but all of them.”
