35 days until kickoff: The curious case of Demetrius McCray

With just 35 days until kickoff, let’s talk about Demetrius McCray — who locked down Antonio Brown and then vanished from the face of the Jacksonville Jaguars roster.

"In Gus Bradley’s dog house..."

McCray came out of the gate strong, putting together a very strong 2014 campaign which (among other things) saw him doing a very good job covering Antonio Brown when the Pittsburgh Steelers came to town.

But he rarely saw the field in 2015 and when he was able to get into the lineup he didn't really do anything of note. McCray quickly went from one of the better corners on the roster, filling in nicely as a starter to a player who couldn't see the field in a very short period of time.

And... I don’t really know why.

He seemed to be in Gus Bradley’s dog house all of a sudden and it was strange to see and I don’t really have an explanation for it.

If you have any ideas as to why McCray fell out of favor and off the team, let me know. I’d love to learn more about the guy.
