The NFL season is finally here, as the Jacksonville Jaguars are preparing to travel to Texans to face the Houston Texans in Week 1 of the NFL regular season. To no one’s surprise, the Jaguars enter the game as underdogs currently showing as high as +6 at some books, including Bovada.
The line for the Jaguars vs. Texans game began as low as +4 over the offseason, so moves the two teams made as well as how they played in the preseason seems to have influenced the line as the Texans became bigger favorites.
It could also be in part to the fact that the game is still being hosted in Houston, even after the city has been devastated by Hurricane Harvey. Many thought the game could be moved to either a neutral site or simply have the Jaguars and Texans would flip home dates, but the NFL decided to keep the game in Houston. It’s possible bettors could see this as a rallying point for the Texans and their fans, which could mean it’s possible the Jaguars are walking into a buzz saw on Sunday.
