A.J. Bouye warns Ben Roethlisberger: ‘Be careful what you wish for’

The Jacksonville Jaguars travel to Heinz Field to take on the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday in the second round of the 2018 NFL Playoffs. The Steelers are coming off their bye week while the Jaguars are following up a 10-3 win over the Buffalo Bills. An interesting story line that has resurfaced were the comments made by Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger a week ago.

“I’ll give you guys one guess who you think I wanna play,” Big Ben told 93.7 The Fan. “Obviously any game that we’re gonna play, this is the postseason. Anybody is gonna be a disciplined opponent, but I think just for me personally, I’d love to just prove that five interceptions wasn’t me in that game.”

While players like to pretend they don’t read the headlines or hear what people say about them, it’s pretty clear the Jaguars defense is tuned in, at least if you listen to Pro Bowl cornerback A.J. Bouye.

“Be careful what you wish for. This is what he wanted, so this is what he is going to get,” Bouye told Phillip Heilman of The Florida Times-Union on Monday. “We remember [the Week 5 game]. We know they are going to be motivated. We are, too. Everybody thinks we’re not going to do it again. We know what we’re capable of. We’re looking forward to it.”

The Jaguars pummeled the Steelers 30-9 earlier this season, forcing Roethlisberger to throw a career high five interceptions, two of which were returned for touchdowns. Since that game however, the Steelers have rattled off a 10-1 record, their only loss being to the New England Patriots a few weeks ago.

I don’t think the Jaguars defense is going to reproduce the kind of day they had against the Steelers in Week 5, but I am very much looking forward to these two teams clashing again, especially if Antonio Brown is back and ready to roll.
