Despite coming off a 40-7 loss to the Dallas Cowboys in Week 6, a game in which the Jacksonville Jaguars were favored, the team heads back home to TIAA Bank Field as five point favorites over the Houston Texans. That the Jaguars are favorites isn’t much of a surprise, but that it’s nearly a touchdown is what makes it a little eyebrow raising.
The Houston Texans have rallied from and 0-3 start and won three games in a row, though all three have been by one-score margins and their most recent win over the Buffalo Bills was thanks to a Nathan Peterman pick six with under two minutes left. The Texans did beat the Cowboys team that recently thumped the Jaguars, however.
This should be a game that the Jaguars win at home, but the last two weeks have turned things that should happen into the abyss. The Texans offensive line is in shambles and on pace to allow over 60 sacks on the season. Deshaun Watson is coming off a game where he was sacked seven times and his body is currently being held together with wood glue and duct tape, seemingly.
The real question is how will the Jaguars offense perform against a Texans defense that has found its form once again.
