Week 8 Pro Football Focus insights: Jermey Parnell was outstanding vs. Eagles

Pro Football Focus is charting everything when it comes to the 2018 NFL regular season and that includes the Week 8 matchup between the Jacksonville Jaguars and Philadelphia Eagles.

So who was the cream of the crop and who did poorly on Sunday morning? Let’s check it out!

Offense

  • The Jaguars offensive line once again struggled to keep quarterback Blake Bortles free from pressure. Despite only allowing one sack the line allowed 22 total pressures versus the Eagles which was the most by a team in Week 8. Bortles found himself under pressure on 40.4 percent of his dropbacks, the tenth highest rate of any quarterback this week.
  • The highest graded player on offense for the Jaguars was offensive tackle Jermey Parnell, who dominated in the run game with a 81.8 run block grade which ranked second among offensive tackles in Week 8.

Defense

  • Myles Jack earned the highest pass rush grade of any linebacker this week. Jack earned an elite 92.0 pass rush grade as he collected four total pressures on just five pass rush snaps.
  • Jalen Ramsey had his best performance in coverage of the season. Ramsey had a coverage grade of 79.1 against the Eagles, his highest of the season and allowed a passer rating of just 38.3 when targeted also his best of the season and the third best this week.
