Would you believe me if I told you that the Jacksonville Jaguars Buffalo Bills opening line actually had the Jaguars favored by five points? Well, it’s true. It’s damn true. OddsShark.com actually opened the Jaguars as -5 favorites, but if you look at other books it looks like that line has moved to about -3 to -3.5, I’m sure with the announcement that Josh Allen is back to being the starter.
(Just kidding.)
It is a bit of a surprise the Jaguars are actually favored on the road however, considering how bad their offense was on Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Perhaps how good the defense was however, with forcing turnovers especially, played into that with Josh Allen coming back and his propensity to turn the ball over.
The Bills defense, which is largely intact, did shut down the Jaguars in the playoffs last season and they needed a late turnover as well as Blake Bortles running around with his legs. That could end up being the same game plan on Sunday, considering the weather outlook isn’t the best.
