Mock drafts are stupid... usually. But every once in a while you run across one so beautiful, so tantalizing, so wonderfully made that you can’t help but smile.
Luke Easterling of USA Today’s Draft Wire wrote up one that would be a home run of a draft scenario for the Jacksonville Jaguars. Here are his picks.
2019 NFL mock draft
Round 1, Pick 6: QB Dwayne Haskins, Ohio State
Round 2, Pick 38: TE Noah Fant, Iowa
Round 3, Pick 70: OT Tyree St. Louis, Miami
Round 3, Pick 94: WR DaMarkus Lodge, Ole Miss
I am drooling.
This would energize an anemic offense that needs help at every position and give a little courage to a defense that knows the offense needs help at every position. If Cody Kessler can play out the string even at an average rate, he would be a perfect bridge to Dwayne Haskins, the tight end position needs a big red zone target like Fant who is getting better as a pass blocker, St. Louis has experience at both tackle position, and Lodge is a fast, downfield receiver who can stretch opposing defenses with great separation.
Let’s go, y’all.
