POLL: Will the Jaguars make the playoffs in 2018?

Statistically, it’s still possible. In fact, with eight games to go, it’s technically correct to say that the Jacksonville Jaguars still control their playoff hopes.

If you win out, that is.

It’s unlikely an 11-5 team misses the playoffs and with the Jaguars sitting at 3-5 with eight games to go, that’s the goal. I don’t think 10-6 will automatically get you in this year because some of these divisions are pretty top heavy. The tie breakers could be killers.

Why making the playoffs will happen

Leonard Fournette is coming back and that could give the offensive line the boost it needs. Blake Bortles played better in the second half of last season and he’s done so in more non-rookie seasons than not. The defense will feed off of it. The schedule is a little easier. This team thrives off of pressure. Take your pick — winning out can happen.

Why making the playoffs won’t happen

The offense is bad until it’s good and nothing is getting fixed before next offseason. Winning a single game sounds like a tall task now, much less eight straight.
