2019 NFL mock draft: ESPN’s Todd McShay thinks Jacksonville Jaguars pick Justin Herbert

NCAA Football: Arizona State at Oregon Troy Wayrynen-USA TODAY Sports

Todd McShay has released his very first mock draft on the ESPN Insider site and (surprise, surprise!) the Jacksonville Jaguars are taking a quarterback.

Now, this mock draft will likely look very different from the actual draft — in part largely because McShay doesn’t predict trades. As it stands now, the Jaguars are the first truly quarterback-needy team to pick in the first round at No. 7 overall, with the Arizona Cardinals, San Francisco 49ers, Oakland Raiders, New York Jets, Atlanta Falcons, and Buffalo Bills all reasonably set at quarterback.

So who does McShay have the Jaguars taking? Oregon quarterback Justin Herbert.

7. Jacksonville Jaguars

Justin Herbert, QB, Oregon

As the first team on the board with a big hole at quarterback (remember, no trades in this mock), it’s no surprise Herbert is the pick here. He has great size and arm strength, but he’ll have to iron out some consistency issues — that is, if he declares for the draft.

If Herbert declares, he’d be a great pick for the Jaguars. If Herbert doesn’t declare, I’d imagine McShay would mock Ohio State quarterback Dwayne Haskins to the team — he’s the second quarterback taken just a few picks later to the New York Giants.

So... Herbert or Haskins? Sign me the f*ck up.
