The Jacksonville Jaguars do not have their quarterback of the future on their roster. Blake Bortles is gone. Cody Kessler ain’t good enough. An older veteran might be what this team rolls out in 2019 but the fact remains — there will be a new guy under center in September.
Dan Kadar of Mocking The Draft knows as much and believes the Jaguars are the first team in the 2019 NFL Draft to pick a quarterback and it’s going to be Heisman finalist Dwayne Haskins.
5. Jacksonville Jaguars: Dwayne Haskins, QB, Ohio State
As the college football season progressed, Haskins asserted himself as the best draft-eligible quarterback prospect in the nation. He’s not regarded as highly as the quarterbacks in the last couple of drafts, but he showed in his redshirt sophomore season that he possesses and NFL arm and size.
Haskins has a strong arm, he’s smart, he’s athletic, and he excels in the short passing game that the Jaguars will likely roll out next season alongside a revamped offensive line and power run offense.
You can read a detailed breakdown of Haskins here.
