6 bold predictions for Jaguars vs. Texans

NFL: Houston Texans at Jacksonville Jaguars Douglas DeFelice-USA TODAY Sports

The Jacksonville Jaguars (5-10) are out of the playoff race and have re-inserted Blake Bortles as their starting quarterback after benching him TWICE in the same season.

The Houston Texans (10-5) need a win to secure home field advantage in the playoffs.

Happy Sunday!

Before the game begins, we wanted to ask the Big Cat Country team (and you!) a simple question:

“How will the Jaguars do against the Texans today?”

Alfie Crow (@AlfieBCC)

Texans win big. I have no confidence the Jaguars will score points.

Texans win... because pain...

The Texans would wax us even if they were out of the playoffs. Now they need a win to keep home field advantage? There will be blood.

Texans win 23-6

The team made the mistake of actually trying to win last week. Judging by the “injury report”, they arent making the same mistake twice. Houston has everything to play for, while the Jags are trying to place Blake Bortles in ICU as a parting gift for stealing millions of dollars. Advantage Texans.

I’m not really one for intentionally throwing games for a draft pick, but at this point, a win is meaningless for Jacksonville, and only hurts its case with how thin the rookie quarterback class is. Still, I don’t think the Jags need to throw the game, as they will simply be overmatched by a better Texans team and lose on its own merit. Leonard Fournette is unlikely to play, while A.J. Bouye has already been ruled out. The Jaguars will lose, but I would like to see Blake Bortles have a good performance in what is likely to be his last ever game in a Jaguars uniform.

Texans win 27-17

Are the Texans wearing their Battle Red uniforms? It will hide the blood. My bold prediction is that fate plus its hand and the Jaguars a gift. They will end up drafting fifth overall.

Texans win 27-3

Best case scenario is the Jaguars play the Texans close, but it’s up to Bortles to lead a two-minute drive for a win and he comes up short (again). It’s not because I don’t like Blake, it’s because I don’t want to go through the next four months debating whether the Jaguars should just keep him around as the bridge. It’s been five years. Move on.

Texans win 27-20
