The Jacksonville Jaguars have fired several assistant coaches on both sides of the ball — including running backs coach Tyrone Wheatley, defensive backs coach Perry Fewell, defensive line coach Marion Hobby, and offensive line coach Pat Flaherty.

Wheatley was hired in January of 2017 and served under Marrone at Syracuse, and then followed him to the NFL and joined his staff with the Buffalo Bills. Before joining Marrone at Syracuse, Wheatley started out doing quite a few internships. He then latched on at Ohio Northern University as an assistant coach. Following that, Wheatley served as running backs coach for Eastern Michigan University for one season, joining Marrone at Syracuse the following year. After his stints with Syracuse and Buffalo, Wheatley returned to his alma mater of Michigan to serve as the teams’ running back coach before coming to Jacksonville.
