Full disclosure: I think I may be in the minority when I say that I actually like the Jacksonville Jaguars two-toned helmets — not love, but like. In a time where almost nobody outside of Jacksonville and myself up in Michigan paid attention to the Jaguars, due to a pitiful on field product, I thought it helped them stand out somewhat.
But many fans were, well, not fans of the half-black and half-gold helmets.
As reported by Alfie Crow back in October as likely and confirmed by Mark Long of the Associated Press, these helmets will no longer be used by the Jaguars.

If you did enjoy the helmets, hopefully you watched the Pro Bowl because that is the last time you’ll see these babies, Long said.
Long also added that he is hearing the uniforms will also be new. A lot of fans called for more teal in the uniform and that appears to be what we’ll be getting.
uniforms will be new also. hearing more teal

The two-toned helmets were often used as yet another outlet for opposing fan bases to make fun of the Jaguars during the struggling years. Perhaps more national attention during this season’s playoff run got more eyes on Jacksonville’s helmet-uniform combo.
Long also added in the Twitter thread that he has heard the newly designed helmets will likely be solid black. Perhaps the Jaguars are going back to the look from the 1990’s and early 2000’s.
The Jaguars went to the current uniforms and dueling-colored helmets in 2013. Prior to that the Jaguars unveiled the more streamlined, clean and tight look, with the all teal home uniforms with white trimming, and white road uniforms with black trimming. The helmets remained solid black with the former Jaguars logo — and had, um, glitter?
But those 2009-2012 uniforms were my least favorite, to be honest. Nothing beats the original look in my opinion, but the most recent helmets weren’t bad.
Assuming all of this is true, what do you think? Is it time for a change, or did you actually like the oft-mocked helmets and uniforms?
