2018 NFL free agency: Are there any tight ends the Jaguars should sign?

With Marcedes Lewis as the only real threat at tight end, should the Jacksonville Jaguars look to free agency?

NFL: NFC Championship-Minnesota Vikings at Philadelphia Eagles Bill Streicher-USA TODAY Sports

The Jacksonville Jaguars boast a group of tight ends that is headlined by the ageless Marcedes Lewis and a couple of productive, but ultimately underwhelming receiving guys. This team needs a marquee tight end to take some of the burden off of Leonard Fournette and the run game to produce for this offense.

Are there any tight ends worth going after next week?

Here’s Spotrac’s full listing of all free agent tight ends in 2018.

Targets

I think Trey Burton is the only realistic target this offseason at tight end for the Jaguars. At just 26 he’s the youngest of the top-tier tight ends available and he was an underutilized talent with the Philadelphia Eagles so he doesn’t have as many miles on him as some of the other guys looking for second or third contracts.

Wishful thinking

Jimmy Graham is good, but he’s 31. Martellus Bennett is too. Tyler Eifert could be an interesting target. He’s young (just 27 years old) and good but he’s got an injury history.

What do you think? Will the Jaguars go after a veteran tight end in free agency? If so, who’s most likely to sign?
