In 16 games last year, Mingo had 47 tackles, 2.0 sacks, and three forced fumbles.
According to Kaye, if Mingo is signed he’d likely play SAM and force Paul Posluszny into a backup role or retirement.
I still think drafting someone for that SAM role would be a good idea, but with Mingo the team has a lot of players who could compete for that position — but second-year linebacker Blair Brown is probably the frontrunner after Posluszny.
