The Jacksonville Jaguars don’t appear to be finished in 2018 NFL free agency as the team is expected to sign veteran cornerback D.J. Hayden to a three-year deal this afternoon, according to a report by Adam Caplan.
CB DJ Hayden expected to sign with #Jaguars: 3 years, $19 million with $9.5 million guaranteed. Upside to $21 million.

Interest in a nickel corner isn’t surprising, as the Jaguars lost Aaron Colvin to the Houston Texans in free agency, but Hayden is a bit of a surprise. The former Oakland Raiders first round pick has been a disappointment so far in his NFL career, but as the Jaguars nickel corner his responsibility might be a lot less than it’s been in previous stops thanks to their pass rush and the outside corners of Jalen Ramsey and A.J. Bouye.
After dealing with a lot of injuries in his career he had kind of an uneventful season with the Detroit Lions as their nickel corner. It will be interesting to see how he plays within the Jaguars defense.
