The Jacksonville Jaguars turned over quite a few more players on their roster than most expected during the free agent period and not all of those moves will work out. We’ve already looked at what we think will be the team’s biggest mistake this offseason, so lets flip the script and pick out what we think the best move this offseason was.
For me, it was the most shocking move; Signing Andrew Norwell to a big time contract. That was one move I did not see coming and the only name I had heard as far as the offensive line was Justin Pugh, for obvious reasons. I thought Pugh would be a solid cheapish addition to the offensive line that would at worst be improvement in the depth, but instead Dave Caldwell and Tom Coughlin went for the home run swing.
Norwell checks all the boxes for what you want to look for in free agency. He’s a top tier player, he’s an immediate upgrade, he’s young with a lot of room to grow still (26) and his contract isn’t going to hang you if he ends up a bust.
