We’re 28 days out from the 2018 NFL Draft. Every day between now and then we’ll be predicting a different team’s draft pick until we get to the Jacksonville Jaguars!
The No. 1 overall pick is in and it’s not a surprise. With 2,470 total votes cast, the Cleveland Browns have selected USC quarterback Sam Darnold with 58.3 percent of the vote!
2018 BCC mock draft results
No. 1: Cleveland Browns — QB Sam Darnold
Todd McShay also had Darnold going first overall and for good reason — the Browns have shown considerable interest in him and were out in force at Darnold’s pro day.
Saquon Barkley garnered about 20 percent of the total vote and Josh Allen received about 16 percent. Poor Josh Rosen received about 5 percent of the vote.
Up now is the New York Giants with the No. 2 overall pick. Could they pick a darkhorse guy like Saquon Barkley or will they go with Eli Manning’s replacement?
Possible picks
- QB Josh Allen — He needs a little more time than Darnold but if the Giants are okay letting a quarterback sit and learn while giving Eli Manning one more year, Allen could be the pick.
- QB Josh Rosen — He’s described as the most pro-ready quarterback in Mel Kiper’s latest mock draft and he’s got a really strong arm.
- RB Saquon Barkley — He’s the best running back in the class and if the Giants are fine with Eli Manning as their guy for at least another year why not get the best non-quarterback in the draft?
- DE Bradley Chubb — Olivier Vernon is the best defensive end on the team and he’s playing linebacker.
