Bleacher Report's Matt Miller has released yet another 7-round mock draft and the Jacksonville Jaguars are loading up on offense (as they should).
Fine by me.
Let’s get to Miller’s picks.
Round 1: TE Dallas Goedert, South Dakota State
Miller says that “lack of a go-to tight end shows up on film” and he’s right — Marcedes Lewis was the team’s leading receiver at tight end and he caught just 24 passes for 318 yards.
Round 2: OT Orlando Brown, Oklahoma
With an awful showing at the 2018 NFL Combine and the fact that the team has glaring needs elsewhere on offense, I don’t like this pick. It’s a luxury pick for a team that desperately needs help at the interior, not at offensive tackle.
Round 3: EDGE Josh Sweat, FSU
If Sweat is available at the end of the third round, sure. But I doubt he makes it past Day 2.
Round 4: CB Tarvarus McFadden, FSU
I really like this pick, regardless of whether we re-sign Aaron Colvin. The drop off on the depth chart at cornerback is drastic after the first three guys, so I’m all for adding depth to this position through a mid-round pick.
Round 6: WR Jaleel Scott, New Mexico State
Dude is 6’6” and ran a 4.58 in the 40-yard dash. Ye please.
Round 7: LB Oren Burks, Vanderbilt
Sure, why not?
Round 7: TE Jordan Akins, UCF
Cole and Hank approve. Probably. Maybe.
