The Jacksonville Jaguars have selected LSU wide receiver D.J. Chark in the second round of the 2018 NFL Draft. Many expect the Jaguars to pick a wide receiver in the first round of the draft, as they do have a need at the position, but the team decided to address it in the second round.
Chark is a tall wide receiver with speed who can get down the field. He was a deep threat at LSU and that’s something the Jaguars desperately need from their receiver group. Chark also offers ability as a punt returner, another area the Jaguars could use another player at.
Chark will enter a logjam of room of wide receivers with the Jaguars, with Marqise Lee, Deonte Moncrief, Keelan Cole and Dede Westbrook. It’s going to be a big competition for the fifth receiver spot, potentially forcing the Jaguars to maybe keep six on their active roster.
