2018 NFL Draft Results: Jaguars pick Ronnie Harrison

NCAA Football: Sugar Bowl-Alabama vs Clemson Derick E. Hingle-USA TODAY Sports

The Jacksonville Jaguars have selected Alabama safety Ronnie Harrison in the third round of the 2018 NFL Draft. Most Jaguars fans expected Jacksonville to load up on offensive players during the draft, but the Jaguars decided to go for value picks picking up Taven Bryan, D.J. Chark, and now Harrison.

While Harrison likely won’t start right away, the Jaguars do need to start looking with an eye towards the future of the defense with players like Barry Church on the wrong side of 30. Harrison fits the role perfectly as a back up to Church and Tashaun Gipson.

While Harrison is mostly known for big hits, he does a nice job in coverage. Harrison was a multi-year starter for Alabama, making a ton of plays in the secondary. The Jaguars defense looks to be scary for years to come as they continue to load up on depth on the defense.
