If the Jacksonville Jaguars haven’t used the Best Available Player method throughout the first three rounds of the 2018 NFL Draft, they’re coming really damn close. They started with an interior defensive lineman, moved on to a wide receiver, and finished up Friday night with a backup safety.

But the roster is scary good, y’all.

Let’s look at the three picks the Jaguars have made so far:

DL Taven Bryan: Round 1, Pick 29

Bryan is an athletic freak at the position, but still has a lot of room to grow to be a polished football player. He does a nice job disrupting in the backfield and getting through gaps to make big plays.

He might fit in the Calais Campbell role for the Jaguars playing big end and defensive tackle as a pass rusher. He’s viewed as a high upside type of player because of his athleticism, so if the Jaguars can develop him like they have some other defensive lineman they might have a gem.

WR DJ Chark: Round 2, Pick 61

Chark is a tall wide receiver with speed who can get down the field. He was a deep threat at LSU and that’s something the Jaguars desperately need from their receiver group. Chark also offers ability as a punt returner, another area the Jaguars could use another player at.

He will enter a logjam of room of wide receivers with the Jaguars, with Marqise Lee, Deonte Moncrief, Keelan Cole and Dede Westbrook. It’s going to be a big competition for the fifth receiver spot, potentially forcing the Jaguars to maybe keep six on their active roster.

S Ronnie Harrison: Round 3, Pick 93

While Harrison likely won’t start right away, the Jaguars do need to start looking with an eye towards the future of the defense with players like Barry Church on the wrong side of 30. Harrison fits the role perfectly as a back up to Church and Tashaun Gipson.

Harrison is mostly known for big hits, he does a nice job in coverage. Harrison was a multi-year starter for Alabama, making a ton of plays in the secondary. The Jaguars defense looks to be scary for years to come as they continue to load up on depth on the defense.

What grade are you giving the Jaguars for their draft haul through the first two days?
