Which Jaguars rookie will have an immediate impact?

The 2018 NFL Draft has come and gone and most seem to think the Jaguars had a good draft. Personally, I think overall it was very good and added some key positions with an eye to the future. We have things we can actually talk about now, so let’s jump right in on the rookie class.

Which rookie do you think will have the most immediate impact?

For me, it’s LSU wide receiver D.J. Chark. He brings a dimension from the Jacksonville Jaguars offense that they don’t really have currently outside of Keelan Cole. Chark can lineup all over the field and be a threat to beat the opposing defense over the top. He’s a consistent deep threat that can help pull defenders out of the box, which in turn will help the run game.

If you go back and watch Chark at LSU, that’s exactly what he did. He essentially just caught a bunch of deep shots to try to catch teams on play-action fakes and open up the box. For the Jaguars rookie class, it seems Chark has the clearest path to an immediate impact on the offense for anyone else in the rookie class.

This isn’t to say guys like Taven Bryan, Ronnie Harrison or Will Richardson can’t, but their path is a lot more of an uphill battle.
