The Jacksonville Jaguars re-vamped their wide receiver group a little bit in the offseason, cutting Allen Hurns and letting Allen Robinson leave in free agency. The Jaguars let their two most productive receivers go and ended up re-signing Marqise Lee, to the tune of a 4-year, $34 million deal with $16.5 million guaranteed.
The numbers were a bit of a shock for Lee, who has never been able to cross the 900 yards receiving mark, but I the Jaguars had to keep someone and the receiver market was getting paid in free agency.
Lee’s NFL career got off to a slow start as he dealt with nagging soft tissue injuries, but he had his breakout year in 2016, catching 63 passes for 851 yards and three touchdowns. Lee didn’t quite follow it up in 2017, even with Robinson and Hurns missing the vast majority of the season, catching just 56 passes for 702 yards. In fact, Lee wasn’t eve the Jaguars leading receiver in 2017, undrafted rookie Keelan Cole was.
So going forward, new deal in tow, what are your expectations for Marqise Lee in 2018?
