The Green Bay Packers have signed former Jacksonville Jaguars tight end Marcedes Lewis on Thursday. Lewis posted a photo on his Instagram account of him signing his contract with Green Bay.

According to our friends at Acme Packing Company, Lewis will fit in well as a run-first option at the tight end position.

While the Packers have more receiving-focused tight ends on the team in Jimmy Graham and Lance Kendricks, Lewis has been better suited in the past few years at the end of the line blocking. Don’t take that as he’s just a blocker though. Lewis is 6’6” and is another viable red zone target for Aaron Rodgers.

Lewis played a total of 170 games for the Jaguars, catching 375 passes for just over 4,500 yards and 33 touchdowns. Mostly known for his affinity as a blocker, Lewis was a long time cornerstone in the Jaguars offense.

Best of luck, Marcedes.
