Jalen Ramsey is never one to shy away from a direct question, so when a reporter asked him on Wednesday afternoon if he had targeted certain opposing receivers he was looking forward to facing after the 2018 schedule came out, the Jacksonville Jaguars cornerback didn’t shy away from answering.
“Yes. Week 1 [against Odell Beckham]. That is the first one, so that is the one that stood out the most. It will be probably talked about a whole lot. That one stood out. You have A.B. [Antonio Brown], you have ‘D-Hop’ [DeAndre Hopkins]. You have some of my former teammates.”
First, Ramsey vs. Beckham is going to be a matchup of Biblical proportions — it’s Week 1, both of these players are incredibly talented and proud, and neither is afraid to talk trash.
The other two in Brown and Hopkins will be fun as Brown is probably the most talented receiver in the league and Hopkins is a real, if friendly, rivalry we get to witness twice a season.
As far as former players, Ramsey is likely talking about Allen Hurns who now plays for the Dallas Cowboys. The Jaguars travel to play the Cowboys in Week 6.
