Jalen Ramsey, A.J. Bouye headline Pro Football Focus top cornerbacks list

The Jacksonville Jaguars have the best cornerback duo in the NFL. It’s not up for debate — two All-Pro players on the outside and the lowest quarterback rating allowed of any pair in the NFL? Sign me up for a defense anchored by that.

And Pro Football Focus again agrees with me, ranking both Jalen Ramsey and A.J. Bouye among the top of their Top 15 cornerbacks in the NFL list, ranking Ramsey at No. 2 and Bouye at No. 6.

2. JALEN RAMSEY, JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS

The fifth overall selection in the 2016 NFL Draft, Ramsey has already elevated himself among the elite at the position with a tremendous 2017 campaign. Targeted 92 times in coverage, Ramsey allowed just 51.1 percent of those targets to be caught, coming away with four interceptions and 10 pass breakups.

6. A.J. BOUYE, JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS

Bouye wasn’t just good in 2017, he was historically good. His NFL passer rating allowed of 31.6 on throws into his coverage is the lowest we have seen from an outside cornerback since we began grading and collecting data in 2006. In his first season in Jacksonville, Bouye proved that his 2016 season in Houston was no fluke, and confirmed himself among the upper echelon of cornerbacks in the league.

They ranked Casey Hayward as the top cornerback in the league which, okay, fine. I don’t agree with it but it is what it is. However, having Ramsey and Bouye both as high as they do is a must.
