Pro Football Focus is charting everything when it comes to the NFL in 2018 and that includes the preseason — where several backups on the Jacksonville Jaguars excelled against the New Orleans Saints despite the loss.
So who was the cream of the crop? Let’s check in with Pro Football Focus:
Offense
- Backup quarterback Cody Kessler played well under pressure, his 121.1 passer rating when under pressure ranked fourth among QBs. He went six of nine with one touchdown while under pressure.
- Jaguars running back Corey Grant looked elusive on the field, on his 11 touches he forced a total of three missed tackles two of which came on his three receptions.
Defense
- Jaguars defensive tackle Sealver Siliga dominated in run defense, he picked up four stops on 20 run snaps to give him the second highest run stop percentage of any defensive tackle (20 percent).
- Edge defender Lerentee McCray wrecked havoc on the New Orleans Saints offensive line. His six total pressures were the most of any edge defender and his pass-rush productivity rating of 32.1 ranked second among 4-3 defensive ends.
